Technology as a tool of civic society

First panel after lunch was reserved for TechSoup Europe and their Balkan partners Mozaik Foundation. Sanela Lulić (Mozaik) and Wojciech Rustecki (TechSoup) tried their best to shake up the audience after lunch.

Projects that TechSoup Europe worked on thus far have been presented, and among them highlights of their work – Apps4Warsaw (won a competition for the best/most useful app in Warsaw, during which more than 50 public data sets were open and used), community boost_r (regional portal for transparency and responsibility), Data Academy and Personal Democracy Forum.

TechSoup Balkans is a platform led by Mozaik and Metamorphosis. Its primary function is providing software donations to the NGOS of the region.

TechSoup definitely wants to create such projects in the future as well, considering the fact that they (especially Apps4Warsaw) proved to be very successful.
