Building Online Communities for Solving Citizens’ Problems in Moldavia and Macedonia

Presentation on building communities for solving problems of citizens inMoldovaandMacedoniawill be held by Irina Shumadieva from the Metamorphosis foundation fromMacedonia, and Mihai Lupescu from MediaPoint based inMoldova. Since both organizations are involved with the implementation of new technologies for advocacy purposes, during the POINT conference, they will together present achievements and experiences from their home countries. The project was formed based on the “Fix my street” project by the british organization “My society”, implemented inMacedoniaandMoldova.

Metamorphosis has accumulated a wide ranging portfolio that covers the development of new media, civic participation, Open Access, Open Education Resources, e-governance, e-inclusion, legislative reforms, protection of the  environment and human rights via online media, especially covering privacy, child safety, free access to information, and freedom of expression.

Mediapoint, whose mission is to “Create a global community of people and ideas which promote social innovations through new media”, is currently working on projects of new media for middle schools and non-governmental organizations, as well as Alerte.md, a platform for mapping social problems in Chisnau.
