Measuring Truth on the Balkans – Truth-o-meter

The Truth-o-meter project focuses on promoting accountability of public office holders and political parties as well as all actors in the political and public sphere, who through their functions carry responsibility towards citizens. Truth-o-meter aims to direct the political and public discourse towards accountability as a basic principle of democracy.

The first and basic tool that the project uses is the portal Istinomjer, which engages in the analysis and measuring of responsibility, as well as informing citizens on the results of analysis. Truth-o-meter measures statements by the carriers of public functions in the terms of their consistency, factual truthfulness, and fulfillment of pre and post election promises of political parties which have received the mandate to govern.

Truth-o-meter in Balkans is being realized inSerbia,Macedonia, andBosnia and Herzegovina. The joint presentation on the project will be held by Bojana Milošević from the organization Crta (RS), Elena Ignatova from Metamorfozia (MK), and Tijana Cvjetičanin from UD “Why not?” (BiH).
