Dejan Vinković

Dejan Vinković received his PhD from the University of Kentucky, USA, and after that spent four years at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. Afther his return to Croatia he has been a professor at the Faculty of Natural Science at the University of Split. For the last several years, he has also been a director of private non-profit research institute Science and Society Synergy Institute in Čakovec,Croatia.
Dejan’s research interests span a wide range of topics – astrophysics, socioeconomy, biomechanics, visualization and statistical data analysis in public data on politics and society, and predictive models of unemployment. Since recently he has been appointed the Chair of an international collaboration that brings together scientists in the field of Big Data in astronomy and Earth Observation.
