Dana Sofi

Dana Sofi was a member of Iraqi Kurdistan Parliament from 2009 to 2013. He was head of Civil Society Committee from 2009 to 2013, and leaded the process of drafting and approval of NGO Law 2010-2011, Demonstration Law 2010-2011, Compact of Cooperation and Development between Public Authorities and NGOs 2012-2013, Access to Information Law 2013.

Curently he is chairman in Reform Institute for Development 2013- (RID), a think tank in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region that focuses on institutional reform to increase participation in policy-making process.

He holds PhD at Sociology 2009 and he is Lecturer and Researcher at Stockholm University from 2004.

His research areas are political Sociology, ethnic relations, civil society, social capital.
