Amr Sobhy
Information activist and entrepreneur, Great Britain/Egypt
Amr Sobhy is an award winning Egyptian data activist, entrepreneur, and writer. He
is best known as cocreator of “MorsiMeter”, a digital initiative and online platform
to document and monitor the performance of Egyptian President, Mohamed Morsi, the
first in Egypt and the Middle East to hold a president accountable for his promises
which has inspired others to do the same, from monitoring Iranian President Hassan
Rouhani to Canada’s Premier Justin Trudeau. Sobhy is currently a Chevening Scholar and
Public Policy Master’s candidate at Birkbeck, University of London researching the convergence of technology and accountability.
