Kristine Mkhitaryan is a Gender Programme Manager at the OxYGen Foundation for Protection of Youth and Women Rights in Armenia. She designs and leads programmes that promote gender equality, women’s empowerment, and inclusive governance.

A significant part of her work involves advancing women’s political participation, addressing gender-based violence and gendered disinformation – developing strategies to counteract harmful narratives that undermine women’s roles in society and politics.

Kristine has extensive experience in advocacy and policy engagement. She collaborates with civil society and government bodies to advance gender-responsive policies and ensure that women’s voices are integral to decision-making processes.

Her advocacy efforts focus on building stronger dialogue between civil society and state actors, and creating space for women’s voices in public debates and reforms. With a strong background in project management, strategic planning, and coalition-building, Kristine applies a rights-based and intersectional approach to her work. She is committed to creating lasting impact through inclusive and collaborative solutions that empower communities and promote social justice.
