The Future of Political Turmoil in Macedonia – Surveilance, Protests, Government Leaks

The panel discussion about current events in Macedonia, on Thursday May 21, will feature prominent representatives of the civil sector and the media.

The panel participants will discuss the escalation of backsliding from democracy in Macedonia, the mechanisms for suffocating the freedom of expression through intimidation and imprisonment of journalists, consequences of the scandal about use of state services for illegal mass surveillance and the leaking of that info, as well as civic reactions to widespread apathy and diminishment of human rights via protesting online, on the streets and through occupation of universities.
