Using New Technologies to Monitor Elections in Montenegro

Center for democratic transition (CDT) fromMontenegrowas in 2006 the first organization in the world which used SMS messaging technology for gathering and analyzing data during the election day. The program enabled the monitors sending of information on the voter turnout and results in a matter of minutes and ensured continuous SMS communications with the central team of CDT with all other monitors all aroundMontenegro.
At the POINT conference, Dragan Koprivica, the executive director and one of the founders of CDT, will share his experiences and present the range of following elections via mobile phones.
