PointTalks: Elections in the Pandemic – Veronika Kratka Spalkova, Kremlin Watch Program

January 22, 2021 | by: Dalio Sijah

One of the EU countries that had elections in 2020 was the Czech Republic. We recorded an interview about different aspects of Czech elections with Veronika Kratka Spalkova, an analyst of the Kremlin Watch Program in the European Values Center for Security Policy.

Veronika talked about the impact of COVID-19 on the elections and political parties, as well as about the impact of disinformation on these elections.

In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, important elections were happening around the world. During previous editions of the POINT conference, electoral processes and elections in many countries have been the focus of numerous presentations and panel discussions, so we decided to make this topic the first topic of the month at POINT Talks.

POINTTalks is envisaged as a series of online events, interviews, articles and different other resources that would engage regional and global POINT communities about different topics during the time when we will not be able to organize the in-person POINT conference. We would have a different topic each month and these topics would try to be in accordance to the interests of the community and mix both global and regional topics and context.
