Filip Ejdus is a professor of security studies at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade. His research primarily explores how identity, memory, and emotions influence security dynamics in world politics. He has studied a wide range of topics, including foreign and security policy, international interventions, civil-military relations, security sector reform, regional cooperation, geopolitics, neutrality, peacebuilding, extremism, and social mobilization. His geographic focus includes the Western Balkans (particularly Serbia and Kosovo), the European Union, Israel/Palestine, and Somalia.
Filip Ejdus is currently serving as the Head of the Centre for International Security, co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Regional Security) co-chair of the Regional Stability Study Group at the Partnership for Peace Consortium, and President of the Central and Eastern European International Studies Association (CEEISA). In December 2023, he was one of the initiators of the ProGlas pro-democracy movement in Serbia.
