POINT 10 was ON POINT, let’s make 11 even better!
It’s an amazing feeling that for more than 10 years we have been gathering dedicated, hard-working people who are pioneers in merging civic activism, media and politics with technology and who are constantly innovating and using technology and other means to inspire and make a change! Unique ideas, inspiring stories, positive energy and innovations are an integral part of the POINT Conference, and this year’s POINT is no exception.
This year, the conference will be held June 15th – 17th, at Sarajevo’s Youth Centre (Dom mladih).
What’s new?
For the first time, we created our program in collaboration with someone else. You heard it right, POINT and Mixer have joined forces this year.
What does the program look like?
As a result of POINT&Mixer cooperation, part of the conference will be designed by Mixer and will cover interesting topics such as podcasts, YouTube channels and their influence on modern activists, media and journalism, but also various other aspects of the influence of video through social networks.
Great things happen through good partnerships, which is why we expect POINT 11 to be the best edition of the POINT Conference yet.
The program is made up of 10+ panels, interviews, presentations and other sessions where different people from the region and beyond would share their original work, projects, ideas and thoughts.
Some of this year’s topics will include developments around big tech; the impact of video and podcast; innovative ways of preventing and fighting disinformation and improving credible journalism; impact of different disinformation narratives about the invasion on Ukraine; the technology of civic engagement, promotion of democracy or fighting disinformation (AI, automated fact-checking, tools for digital participation, other tools); the hype of AI and its effects on society, as well as democracy promotion, information integrity and political accountability; human rights and technology; as well as important regional and local events like elections or similar.
