Maida Salkanović

War Childhood Museum

Maida Salkanović is the Communications Manager at the War Childhood Museum, where she develops and implements innovative approaches to sharing stories of childhoods affected by armed conflict. Her work focuses on using diverse formats, including digital media, storytelling projects, and interactive experiences, to make these stories accessible to wider audiences, foster empathy, and encourage meaningful engagement with the experiences of children growing up in war.

A journalist by profession, Maida holds a Master’s degree in Democracy and Human Rights and Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and German and Spanish Language and Literature. She previously worked with the Center for Investigative Reporting in Sarajevo (CIN), Klix.ba, the regional fact-checking network SEE Check, and the Bosnian fact-checking platform Raskrinkavanje, specializing in disinformation, media literacy, and public-interest journalism.
