Nino Bakradze

Nino Bakradze is a seasoned investigative journalist and media leader with 15 years of experience, including a decade dedicated to investigative reporting. She is the editor-in-chief and co-founder of iFact, an independent investigative media organization in Georgia committed to exposing corruption, abuses of power, and systemic issues that affect the public.
Under her leadership, iFact conducts rigorous, data-driven investigations using documents, open-source research, and extensive field reporting to illuminate stories overlooked by mainstream media. The organization collaborates with leading international networks, including OCCRP and GIJN, enabling cross-border investigations held to the highest standards of accuracy and transparency – all while operating under growing political and financial pressure.
Bakradze holds a master’s degree in Media Management and Journalism from the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA). Her investigative work has earned global recognition through contributions to landmark projects such as the Panama Papers (2015-2016) and the Pandora Papers, both conducted in partnership with OCCRP.
A committed advocate for the profession’s future, Bakradze has played a significant role in shaping journalism education in Georgia. From 2016 to 2022, she taught Data Journalism at GIPA at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Between 2019 and 2023, she led a year-long Investigative Journalism Training Program in partnership with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF), and she continues to design and lead educational initiatives aimed at cultivating the next generation of investigative journalists.
