Antonella is a Tech Policy Expert, Strategic Comms and Impact Advisor with over 18 years experience, currently working with public interest journalism newsrooms and human rights organisations in Italy and Europe.

Her work largely focuses on the impact of technology on society and human rights, in particular on issues related to migration, welfare, and reproductive rights.

Most recently, she was Senior Policy Officer and Network Coordinator at Privacy International (PI), a global civil liberties organisation that challenges surveillance practices by governments and companies, coordinating a global network of partner organisations in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Prior to that, she developed and led PI’s work on migration and tech treats.

Previously, she served as Communications Manager at CILD, the Italian Coalition for Civil Liberties and Rights, where she also ran the Civil Liberties in the Digital Age Programme. She also co-authored a research titled “Digital Identity in the Migration & Refugee Context” on the challenges of collecting identity data from migrants & refugees (published by Data & Society.)

Antonella sits on the board of Chayn, a global nonprofit, run by survivors and allies from around the world, creating resources to support the healing of survivors of gender-based violence.
