Besjana Hysa is co-founder of AIS, an organization promoting Open Data for Albania. The organization is well-known as an implementer of different projects in country related to the process of transparency and accountability through the motto: Open Governance as Good Governance. Her work is focused on the organization of work and activities related to capacity building, training and assistance to governmental administration employees, representatives of civil society and local journalists.
She graduated from the Faculty of Engineering Informatics at Polytechnic University of Tirana and holds a Master Degree for System Information in Economy from the University of Tirana.
She is currently working with several projects like Open Procurement Albania, Red Flag Index for Local Government Contracting, and Open Government as Good Governance, and she is the Project Officer for Albanian Region on Open ICT Education for youth Employability an IPA Eu funded project implemented together with Open Data Kosovo. The aim of the project is to create to young students from rural and not developed areas the possibility to learn ICT skills through a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) platform in Albanian Language.
Besjana is also part of the working groups engaged in implementing the OGP action plan for Albania.
For the sixth time representing AIS, at POINT 0.8 she is going to exchange with participants from other countries monitoring methods and analysis on how to increase transparency on the distribution of public money by state-owned companies during elections;
